Yvonne Nelson Legal Action


Yvonne Nelson revealed that she took legal action against Neat FM and Mona Gucci by sharing her receipts. 

The legal document that Yvonne shared from her lawyers to the radio station alleged that Mr Ola Michaels “instigated and encouraged the guest, Ms. Mona Gucci, to make disparaging remarks.”

The document goes to allege that Mona Gucci not only described Yvonne as a “slay queen,” but suggested that the only place that Yvonne works hard is in the bedroom.

Mona Gucci has not apologized although she was asked to do so on air.

To set the record straight, Yvonne had this to say;

“Any media house who drags the YN brand again into negativity will not be given the chance to apologize at all. Thanks.”

Yvonne Nelson’s Age 


Yvonne Nelson who is a well known Ghanaian actress was born on the 12th November 1985 in Accra, Ghana. She is 34 years old.

Yvonne and her siblings were raised by a single mother after the family was abandoned by their father. 

Yvonne was a little girl when her father left them and as she grew up, all the responsibilities leaned towards her mother. 

On Father's Day, Yvonne Nelson usually congratulates and sends her mother messages as she thanks her for fulfilling two parental roles. She celebrates her mother as a hero. 

Yvonne Nelson's Education


The actress started her studies at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra, as it is her birthplace. 

Upon completion of her primary studies, Yvonne continued her studies at Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. 

Yvonne decided to take her studies further at Zenith University College but later on changed to Central University where she finished her degree in Human Resource Management.

Yvonne Nelson and her husband, Jamie Roberts,  were blessed with a baby girl during their time together. On the 29th of October in 2017 Ryn Roberts their daughter was born. 

Filled with excitement, Yvonne Nelson hosted a big first birthday for her daughter Ryn. The actress decided to throw her a huge party with all the most famous celebrities coming to visit, such as John Dumelo, Prince David Osei, Sammy Forson, and Yvonne Okoro.

Jamie Roberts, her baby father, was also present, and Yvonne was friendly with him even after their separation. This was all for the sake of the birthday to continue its motion as it was. The former president, John Agyekum Kufour was also at the celebration and had the opportunity to play with little Ryn. 

Yvonne Nelson's Career


Starring in a number of movies she is not only an actress but her other titles include being a model, a film producer and an entrepreneur. Many remember her roles in movies such as House of Gold, Any Other Monday, I'm April and Swings.

Unlike those who had dreams of being on the red carpet and becoming Nollywood's Most Influential Actors or Actresses, Yvonne Nelson was not entirely looking at the direction of acting.

Yvonne started off as a model in high school and she was known to be a beauty pageant queen. This was following her successful win at the Miss Aggrey Memorial School beauty pageant. 

A few years after mastering her craft as a model, Yvonne aimed high and became a participant of the Miss Ghana pageant in 2005. It was a dream as a secondary school model to be able to enter the competition, and she finally achieved it. 

Yvonne, unfortunately - lost the pageant but she was rewarded for her effort with a special award, Best Talent. The award was mostly influenced by her performance of the best original rap song, which dealt with the awareness of HIV/AIDS diseases. She received an enormous amount of exposure from her stunning performance which made her receive a special award, the actress won the Maxim Cosmetics brand, which made her the face of their brand. 

When she enrolled at Zenith University College, the model started developing an interest in music. She then tried to pursue her music career as she started performing on different stages. 

Two years after her Miss Ghana participation, Yvonne decided to pursue acting and her first big debut was when she got a lead role called “Princess Tyra”, where she appeared in 2007. After her next production for the film, “Playboy”, she continued building her name and the beauty of it is that she was becoming a big name as a rookie actress.

Following the success of Princess Tyra, she went to Nigeria to shoot more movies which launched her career in the Nollywood industry. She became a celebrated figure in Nigeria and Ghana as she became a giant actress in both counties.

Yvonne Nelson Philanthropy


The award-winning actress, Yvonne Nelson founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 which is aimed to help raise awareness about diseases. She was blessed with the support from Ghanaian celebrities. As a form of awareness, she has recorded an all-star single and shot a video to spread the word out about glaucoma.

As a result of her innovative ideas, Yvonne was honoured by GoWoman Magazine and Printex Foundation and Film Career.

Yvonne Nelson is a winner in everything she does. She won her first award as a model when she was awarded the Miss Aggrey Memorial School beauty pageant. She won several more beauty pageants in high school.

She went on to win a title at the Miss Ghana when she was awarded Best Talent. In her acting career, as someone who has appeared in over hundreds of movies, Yvonne Nelson has left a remarkable mark in her journey. 

The actress was awarded the Best Upcoming Actress at the 4th African Movie Academy Awards and the following year, 2009 — the actress relieved an award for the Best Actress at the Joy Nite FM Awards. Yvonne started collecting movie awards in both Nigeria and Ghana as her contributions were honoured in both countries. 

She was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Ghana Movies Awards event in 2010. The following year, Yvonne won the Best Ghanaian Actress at the city People event.

Yvonne again won the award Best Actress at the Ghana Movie Award in 2016.

Yvonne received her first endorsement in 2005 when she won a two-year contract as the face of Maxim Cosmetics. After years of building her brand as an influential figure in society, she was honoured signing a contract with Ghana telecommunication giant, Vodafone in 2012 — to be their official brand ambassador. 

As she was followed by success, she won the Face of Zaron Hair and Makeup and became a brand ambassador in the whole of West Africa in 2013. The award-winning superstar actress signed yet another contract in 2015. She was endorsed by Glo telecommunication network.
