Actors are probably some of the most recognisable faces in the country. From the most expensive cars to expensive getaways, and having successful careers to help keep up their lavish lifestyles, these celebrities are putting in the work.

Let's have a look at some of Ghana's richest celebrities that keep making waves in the entertainment industry. 

1. Majid Michel

Majid Michel is a popular actor born in the Ghanaian capital Accra in 1980. He is a widely celebrated Ghanaian actor who has remained active in the movie industry since 2000. At the Africa Movie Academy Awards, he has been nominated under the award category “Best Actor in a Leading Role” 6 times out of which he won the award once.

The renowned actor was nominated in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2017. Notably, he finally won the award upon his fourth nomination in 2012.

From a very young age, it was clear that the man had skills and talent that were going to set him up for life in the entertainment industry. He started off by having a stint in the modelling industry, but later he made his break in the movie industry in 2000. 

He has since featured in a number of Nollywood movies having made his debut on the big screen with Ikechukwu Onyeka's Emerald. Some have even attributed the fact that the actor  walks in the shoes of Hollywood actor, Al Pacino. Wow! He must be really good to receive such great reviews. 

The talented actor married Virna and together they have such a beautiful family. They are also considered to be one of Ghana's power couples.

Michel is currently one of the richest and most influential actors in Ghana.

2. Chris Attoh

Chris Attoh, born and raised in Ghana, is best known for his roles as a producer, actor, TV presenter, and on-air personality. He goes by the birth name Christopher Keith Nii Attoh and he is popularly regarded as “Kwame Mensah” in Tinsel –a Nigerian soap opera. His skill in acting has earned him a good position in the industry and has helped him amass a lot of wealth.

He attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he pursued a degree in painting. He later on studied banking and security when he moved to London. Nothing to do with entertainment, but somehow he found himself on the big screen.

His entertainment career kicked off in Accra when he starred in conjunction with Shirley Frimpong-Manso in the TV series "Choices". This appearance catapulted him to fame and since then he's been making headlines when it comes to TV series and movies that always have viewers on the edge of their seats.

he has featured in several TV series and movies. He has also hosted several radio shows. He began at Groove Fm where he did his national service. He, later on, joined Choice Fm, where he worked for a short while before he was convinced to move to Metropolitan TV. 

Apart from his polished performing arts career, Chris is also the CEO of A Factory Limited, a media and concept development company. He started the company at the age of thirty. The company has also significantly contributed to the vast wealth that he has. 

However his life has been filled with so much misfortune. He divorced his first wife, Damolila Adegbite, but the relationship hit rock bottom and the two opted for divorce in 2017. He then tied the knot in 2018 with Bettie Jenifer. Barely seven months into his second marriage, his wife gets shot and dies in cold blood in the USA. 

The influential actor has amassed a lot of wealth from his career and the investment company that he flagged off.

3. Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson is an award-winning Ghanaian actress born in Accra in 1985. She has long been a vibrant actress in the Ghanaian movie industry and her acting career began in 2000. Although she is best known for acting, Yvonne Nelson doubles up her profession as an entrepreneur, model and film producer.

To date, Yvonne has starred in more than 100 movies. To mention a few, some of the movies are Save the Last Kiss, The Return of Beyonce, Princess Tyra, Pool Party, Passion of the Soul, Material Girl, Any Other Monday and House of Gold. 
After her primary and secondary education, Yvonne proceeded to Central University College in Ghana and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management.
After her success in Princess Tyra, she went to Nigeria and shot more movies which launched her career in Nollywood and made her a public figure in Nigeria. 
In 2010, she founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation which she uses to create awareness about chronic diseases. With the support from other Ghanaian celebrities, she recorded an all star-charity single and shot a video to help educate people on how they should take care of their health.

4. Jackie Appiah

Jackie Appiah is one of Ghana's most famous and most loved actress who debuted her acting career in the movie, Divine Love. She was born in Canada in 1983 and she moved to Ghana with her mother at the age of 10. Her acting prowess, coupled with consistency, has earned her a number of awards and she is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s leading actresses.

She made her first onscreen appearance on the popular TV series, Things We Do For Love. Jackie went on to create a successful acting career including starring in the smash hit movie Beyonce alongside prominent Ghanaian actors Van Vicker and Nadia Buari. This got her onto the A list celebrities category.
In 2007, her acting went beyond the shores of Ghana when she received her first role in Nigeria in 'Sleep Walker' starring Genevieve Nnaji and Ramsey Noah. Also in 2010, she emerged as the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. In 2012 Jackie reached another milestone in her career when she received a leading role in 'Turning Point' a Hollywood/Nollywood drama.
The actress always identify a group of needy to celebrity her birthday or Christmas with every year. She does donation with what she earns for the year to a lot of organization including: Korle bu Teaching Hospital, Chosen Rehab Center, Dzorwulu Special School, Osu Children's Home and TV3 Talented Kids.

5. Nadia Buari

Born in the Ghanaian region of Sekondi-Takoradi in 1982 she is one of Ghana's leading actresses. Under the African Movie Academy Awards, she has been nominated twice for the Best Actress in a Leading Role. Meanwhile, the nominations came in 2001 and 2009.

Nadia treasured the idea of becoming an actress a lot through out her school life. During this time she was actively involved in school dramas and dance clubs.

The long and fruitful path of Nadia Buari in movies started in 2005 when she debuted on Ghanaian national television. Her first series was called “Games People Play”, and it came out in late 2005 on screens. This was a kick-off of Nadia’s productive career, and this role got her a nomination for “Best Actress”.

As of today, Nadia Buari as acted in more than forty movies. Some of the most popular films that she was featured in includes, “Beyonce and Rihanna”, “Behind a Smile” and “Hot Romance”, as well as “Beauty and the Beast”, “Rough Rider”, “Single and Married”, and “Holding Hope”. A few of her most remarkable movies featured the Nigerian actor Jim Iyke.

At the moment, she is the third richest Ghanaian actress with a net worth of $750,000.
