Our comic industry has over the years experienced massive growth, this is mostly owed to the fact that comedians in the local industry have upped their game and are providing real high quality content for their audiences.

Well, here is a list of some of the most notable Ghanaian Comedians.

Clemento Suarez

Clemento Suarez began his professional career in 2011 by performing unpaid work after his studies. Later, he made the decision to pursue a career in comedy. Clemento has collaborated with designers like Latif Abubakar and appeared in the Ghanaian television program Kejetia vs. Makola.

He and O. B. Amponsah co-hosted the third iteration of the 3 Music Awards, Ghana's first virtual award concert held during the COVID-19 lock-down. The Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) organizers selected him and Gladys Owiredu to serve as the hosts of the awards ceremony for this year's (GOWA) (2021) ceremony.

Kalybos

Richard Asante first gained notoriety for his part in the Boys Kasa comic book series. He and Patricia Opoku Agyemang, his co-star from the Boys Kasa television series, were presented with a Black British Entertainment Award in London in 2017. He has acted in a number of well-known Ghanaian films, such as Kalybos in China and Amakye and Dede.

Funny Face

In 2010, Funny Face made his debut on the Night of 1010 Laughs. This is thought to have been his big break into comedy.

In the TV3 sitcom Chorkor tro tro, Funny Face portrayed the part of the driver's partner. Before resigning, he went by the name Chemu. He became very well-known thanks to his part in Chorkor Trotro. Additionally, he has appeared at the comedy show called Night of 1010 Laughs.

He collaborated with hip-hop musician Castro de Destroyer due to his interest in music. Castro also appeared in Funny Face's Odo Bekumi, and he was featured in Castro's Sweet Banana. Odo Pa and Do The Dance by Castro and Asamoah Gyan both featured Funny Face.

Additionally, he assisted Togolese footballer Emmanuel Adebayor at his charity event. He was also the driving force behind the Vodafone Ghana Red Campaign.

Akrobeto

Akrobeto, also known as Akwasi Boadi, is a Ghanaian actor, comedian, and TV host. He was born on November 18, 1962. He is well-known for the size of his nose and has appeared in more than 100 Kumawood films. In the entertainment world, Akwesi Boadi is referred to as Akrobeto (who "nose" tomorrow). Due to his comedic performances, he has recently gained recognition from the international community, and various CNN presenters as well as other foreign television presenters have utilised his comedic performances.

Joey Chernyim

A Ghanaian comedian with a base in Thailand, Joey Chernyim or Joey Ghana was born on December 28, 1974. He is well-known as a supporting actor and former goalie in sport.

Kwame Dzokoto

Ghanaian comedian, actor, and politician Seth Kwame Dzokoto. He is the host of the Edziban program on TV3, which investigates restaurants and cuisines throughout Ghana.

In the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency during the 2016 Ghanaian general elections, he ran on the NDC ticket but was defeated by Mireku Duker of the New Patriotic Party.
