Wendy Shay and Shatta Wale released their latest joint single, “Haters In Tears” or “H.I.T” depending on who you ask on Friday, 4 September 2020. The journey to the release of the single started with the leader of the Shay Gang sharing the announcement of the single on Monday, 30 August 2020.  Wendy has some push back on the announcement post about her proclamations about international superstar, Beyoncé.

The “Emergency” hit maker had announced the single with a caption stating, “On the 4th of September this Friday ,is my godmother; Beyoncé’s birthday. And I’ll be releasing a banger with my godfather, Shatta Wale. Thank you godfather for the link. This is spiritual.” Wendy referring to Beyoncé as her godmother had many wondering when did that happen and how come nobody knew about this?

But Queen Shay did not let the trolls get to her, and focused on promoting the single throughout the week. Following the release of the single, that was accompanied by the lyric video that was posted on YouTube. “H.I.T” received favourable reviews from fans of both artists, so much so that Boom Play Music, Ghana, featured the singer on the promotional slide of all the hottest new releases to come out of the country.
