Wendy Shay whose real name is Wendy Abena Ofusuhemaa Asiamah Addo was born on 20 February 1996 in Accra. Her hometown is in Obo Kwahu in the Eastern region of the country.
She has three siblings - a sister named Joslyn and two brothers named Andrew and Elliot. Wendy Shay, her siblings and her mother Mrs Obaapa Kaakriye Addo relocated to Stuttgart, Germany after the death of their father Mr Addo.
Wendy went to Morning Star School and St Martins De Porres before moving to Germany where she completed her education. Whilst there, she also attended a grammar school, Nursing and joined a music school in Berhausen.
After she finished her studies in nursing school, Wendy Shay practised as a midwife and nurse in Germany before she moved back to Ghana to pursue her music career. Wendy was signed by Ricky Nana Agyemang popularly known as Bullet to Rufftwon Records.
Under the label, Wendy Shay released songs like “Uber Driver”, “Shay On You”, “Tuff Skin Girl” amongst others. Her albums include “Shay On You” (2019), “Growth” (2020) and “Shayning Star” (2021).
